Prof. Farqad Al-Hadeethi is a professor of chemical engineering/ electrochemical reaction engineering and corrosion. He obtained his B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D.in chemical engineering from Saddam University/ Baghdad-Iraq. Prof. Al-Hadeethi used to be a faculty member at the chemical engineering department / college of engineering/Saddam University. He is leading the hydrogen group at the Royal Scientific Society since 2005 to develop a combination of electrochemical processes (electrolyzer and PEM fuel cells) in conjunction with biotechnology, nanotechnology, photovoltaic cells technology as well as metallic membranes technology to produce, purify, utilize and store hydrogen as a source of energy and water without polluting the environment. Prof. Al-Hadeethi has supervised several post graduate students (Ph.D. and M.Sc.), accomplished more than 60 consultancy studies for the industry, registered several patents, and published several books, scientific papers in peer reviewed international journals. He was granted a number of national and international awards in recognition of his research efforts. He is representing Jordan at the International Corrosion Council and the International Association for Hydrogen Energy.
Prof.Mohammed Al-Obaide is a professor of molecular biology and biotechnology, obtained his Ph.D. in molecular biology from the University of East Anglia/England-U.K. in July 1976. Before joining the TTUHSC/USA in September 2013 as an international scholar, Prof. Al-Obaide worked for 7 years as professor, consultant and senior researcher of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology within the Royal Scientific Society and Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) in Jordan, 21 years in the departments of biology and biotechnology within Al-Nahrain, Baghdad and Sulaimanya Universities and 9 years within genetic engineering and biotechnology research center/scientific research council in Iraq. His research interest covers numerous areas of genomics, epigenomics and bioinformatics of biological systems, focusing on regulation of gene expression. Prof.Al-Obaide C.V. lists 87 peer reviewed publications, seven books, four patents, numerous presentations at national and international meetings, prestigious academic honors and awards. He has supervised 8 Ph.D. and 43 M.Sc. students. As a member in the hydrogen group, Prof.Al-Obaide is working within the biohydrogen subgroup.
Prof. Mohammed Al-Nimr is a professor of mechanical engineering, obtained his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the university of Michigan/Ann Arbor, USA, 1991. He is currently working as a professor at the mechanical engineering department, Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST). His research interest covers mathematical modeling for various thermal systems, radiation and acoustical properties, fuel cells, heat transfer in porous media, macro-and micro-scale heat transfer, heat transfer and fluid flow in micro-channels, heat transfer in magneto-hydrodynamic systems, thermal behavior of different solar systems; particulate collectors, air heaters, solar pond and storage tanks. Prof. Al-Nimr has 263 peer reviewed publications, supervised 5 Ph.D. and 54 M.Sc. students. He was granted a number of national and international awards in recognition of his research efforts. He is the editor-in-chief of energy conversion and management Journal (2013-now). ISSN: 0196-8904. Publisher: Elsevier. In addition, he is an associate editor in 15 peer reviewed journals which covers numerous engineering areas. As a member in the hydrogen group, Prof. Al-Nimr is working within the fuel cell subgroup.
Dr. Hatem Alsyouri is an associate professor of chemical engineering. He obtained his bachelor degree in chemical engineering from the University of Jordan in 1998, and Ph.D. in chemical and material engineering from the University of Cincinnati, USA in 2004, and MBA is quality management from the German Jordanian University in 2010. His Ph.D. was in the field of nano-structured materials and membranes under supervision of Prof. Jerry Y.S. Lin. He joined the group of Prof. Ronald W. Rousseau at Georgia Institute of Technology, USA in the period 2005 -2006 as a postdoctoral researcher on crystallization of complex sodium salts. In 2006-2008 he was employed at the Royal Scientific Society in Jordan as a researcher. In 2008 Dr. Alsyouri joined University of Jordan as a faculty member at the chemical engineering department where he has engaged in teaching, research and administrative activities. He served as assistant dean for accreditation and quality in 2014-2015 and participated in acquiring ABET accreditation for 3 B.Sc. Engineering programs. Currently, Dr. Alsyouri is employed at the American University of the Middle East in Kuwait where he is participating in establishing a chemical engineering department. Dr. Alsyouri is experienced in the fields of nano-structured materials and inorganic membranes, and has a number of research activities in membranes, desalination, adsorption, corrosion, and fuel cells. He published a number of papers in refereed journals and has given a number of presentations and invited talks in scientific conferences. Dr. Alsyouri was granted a number of awards in recognition of his research efforts. As a member in the hydrogen group, Dr. Alsyouri is working within the purification, fuel cell and hydrogen storage subgroups.
Dr.Adi Said holds a Ph.D. degree in analytical chemistry from the University of Jordan. Dr.Adi is currently working as an associate researcher at the Scientific Research Center (SRC)/ Royal Scientific Society. He has held several posts at the Royal Scientific Society (RSS) since 1994. He has over twenty three years’ experience in both classical and instrumental analytical / bioanalytical chemistry. He has 27 publications and studies. As a member in the hydrogen group, Dr. Adi is working within the hydrogen storage subgroup.
Dr.Naseem Haddad holds Ph.D. degree in materials science and metallurgy from university of Cambridge –Cambridge – U.K. 8th May 1990. He is a freelance third party consultant in QA/QC of steel structures, conveyer belts and pipe racks in cement factories, oil and gas storage tanks from 2010 to present time. Use to work as a consultant in innovation, tech transfer & commercialization at the presidency office in El Hassan Science City from 1/4/2009 to 1/8/2009. Appointed as a director of Mechanical Design &Technology Center (MDTC) of RSS from 1/8/1996 to 31/3/2009. Technical consultant in metallurgy, materials Science, heat treatment, NDT, failure assessment and specialized testing of metals and polymers. Founder of RSS intellectual property policy. Founder and chairman of the steering committee of the engineering incubator at RSS for the period from 2005 to 2008. Part Time lecturer in materials science & metallurgy in the German Jordanian University for the years 2006-2007 “Four Semesters”. External examiner in the panel awarding M.SC degree for four post graduate students at the industrial engineering dept., Faculty of Engineering and Technology – University of Jordan (1992, 1993, 1994 and 2010). Director and researcher of the European projects; PROMET (2004 to 2008) to develop and test new non-toxic corrosion inhibitors and coatings for protection of iron and copper alloy objects housed in Mediterranean museums and RAMSES project. Have many published scientific reports and papers in the field of material science, corrosion, conservation of metal artifacts and nanotechnology. As a member in the hydrogen group, Dr. Haddad is working within the hydrogen storage subgroup.
Dr.Yaseen Al-Husban is an assistant prof. of electrical engineering .He has obtained his B.Sc., M.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering from East Ukrainian State University/USSR in 1991,1992 , M.Sc. degree in engineering management from Jordan University in 2001, Ph.D. degree in Renewable energy\ Natural-Lighting technology from Moscow Power Engineering Institute-Technical University\Russia in 2006. Dr. Al-Husban is currently a project manager and director of renewable energy institute of excellence/ VTC. He worked with Moscow international salon of innovations and investments as an international jury member in the field of renewable energy. Dr.Al-Husban is a certified energy manager and a certified energy trainer. He used to work during the period( 2010-2014) as a lecturer and director of Renewable Energy Research and Development Center at Al-Hussein bin Talal University. He has published a number of peer reviewed scientific papers. As a member in the hydrogen group, Dr.Al-Husban is working within the ECR-Solar subgroup.
Dr.Nida’ Salem is an associate professor in the department of plant protection, faculty of agriculture, University of Jordan since 2011. After earning a Ph.D. degree in Plant Virology from the University of Jordan, Jordan, she moved to the US and joined the Foundation Plant Services (FPS) research group in the College of Agricultural & Environmental Sciences at the University of California, Davis (UCD), on 2004 as a Fulbright postdoctoral fellow. On 2006, she worked in the department of plant pathology and microbiology at the University of California Riverside (UCR). She has worked to molecularly characterize the two most challenging viruses in rose plants by using various biotechnologies. Moreover, she has used genetic and genomics approaches to solve complex biological problems associated with agriculture all over the world such as fig mosaic disease, cowpea seed borne viruses and lettuce chlorosis virus. She worked as a research scientist in the knowledge sector at the Royal Scientific Society (RSS) Jordan, between 2007 and 2011.
Her current research focuses on synthesis of nanoparticles (NPs) using green methods and studying their antimicrobial effect. Furthermore, she is using novel applications of the green synthesized NPs for control of plant diseases including plant pathogenic nematodes and phytopathogenic fungi. Additionally, the antibacterial activity of NPs toward foodborne pathogens such as Escherichia coli, Listeria monocytogenes, Shigella and Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. She is involved in studying the ecotoxicity of Jordanian zeolitic nano tuff and other engineered nanoparticles to the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans, as a molecular model. She published numerous articles and manuscripts in several international journal and proceedings, including Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Journal, Virology, Archives of Virology, Plant Pathology and Plant Disease, etc., which were received with great interest and enthusiasm. She is a member of some international committee, including the American Society for Virology (ASV) and the American Society for Phytopathology (ASP). As a member in the hydrogen group, Dr.Nida’ is working within the biohydrogen subgroup.
Eng. Mahmoud Mustafa holds M.Sc. degree in industrial engineering from the University of Jordan and B.Sc. degree in mechanical engineering from the Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST). He used to work within the fuel cell program at the center of applied industrial research (CAIR) at RSS on the fabrication of porous bipolar plates for the fuel cell by using Powder Metallurgy (PM) and Nanotechnology techniques. He worked on joining ceramics to metals in solid oxide fuel cells at Politecnico di Torino / Italy. He has published several peer reviewed papers. As a member in the hydrogen group, Eng. Mahmoud is working as a part time research assistant within the fuel cell and the design and manufacturing subgroups.
Eng. Amani Abdelhadi holds M.Sc. degree in industrial engineering and B.Sc. degree in chemical engineering from the University of Jordan. Her M.Sc. thesis with prof. Farqad Al-Hadeethi under the title “Estimating The Life Time of Industrial Mechanical Structures Facing Metallic Corrosion Phenomenon In Acidic Environment” was converted to a text book by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing under the title of “Managing Galvanic Corrosion in Industry: Concept, Methodology and Analysis”. Eng. Amani is working as a senior research assistant with a professional experience in researches & consultations devoted to electrochemical reaction engineering applications & metallic corrosion at the Scientific Research Center (SRC)/ Royal Scientific Society since 2008. In her current position, she is assisting the main researcher in all subgroups (ECR-Solar, Biohydrogen, Purification, Storage, Fuel Cell, and Design and Manufacturing). Eng. Amani has several scientific papers published in peer reviewed journals. She has received the JEA prize for distinguished graduated students/M.Sc. in the fourth innovation forum for young engineers in Jordan. Eng. Amani is an active member of the group & graphically talented one.
Eng. Mohammad Alsafadi holds M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees in mechanical engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST). His M.Sc. thesis was with Prof. Farqad Al-Hadeethi under the title “Studying The Effect of Operating Conditions on The Performance of Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) Fuel Cell”.
He has published one peer reviewed paper. As a member in the hydrogen group, Eng. Mohammad is working as a part time research assistant within the fuel cell and the design and manufacturing subgroups.
Mr. Majdi Al-Abadi holds a diploma in mechanical engineering/ advanced manufacturing. He is leading the mechanical workshop at the Royal Scientific Society. He has long experience in CAD/CAM software and CNC machine.
Mr.Majdi is a certified technician in advanced manufacturing processes, engineering drawing, computerized measurements and heat treatment of metals from Denmark . As a member in the hydrogen group, Mr.Majdi is working as a senior technician within the design and manufacturing subgroup.
Mr. Hazim Al-Hasabeen holds a diploma in mechanical engineering . He is working as a technician in the mechanical workshop on CAD/CAM software and as an operator of CNC machines. As a member in the hydrogen group, Mr.Hazim is working as a technician within the design and manufacturing subgroup.
