Emirates Energy Award 2015

 

Prof.Farqad Al-Hadeethi has received on behalf of the hydrogen group the Emirates Energy Golden Award-2015 in a special ceremony held in Armani hotel/Dubai for the project titled:

 

Real time hybrid solar powered electrochemical reactor, purification, fuel cell system to generate electricity and drinking water from sea water using green hydrogen.

 

The Emirates Energy Award 2015 / Research and Development category consists of three awards ( i.e. Golden, Silver and Bronze). Taking into consideration that the evaluation criteria is based upon the following:

  1. Creativity and Innovation: demonstrated systems and processes, influencing energy technologies, and opportunities with potential for further development and transferability to others.
  2. Energy Efficiency: representing reduction of specific energy consumption.
  3. Increase of Renewable Energy Share in the Energy Source Portfolio: use of renewable energy and gradual reduction of dependence on non-renewable energy sources.
  4. Economic, Social & Environmental Impact: potential to delivering significant benefits including improvements in quality of life, cutting greenhouse gas emissions and supporting sustainable energy, in addition, to building knowledge capacity and corporate social responsibility.

 

The total number of projects were 112 from 12 countries (Germany, India, Jordan, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Morocco, Kuwait, Egypt and Iran). The International evaluation committee of the award have evaluated the projects based on the above mentioned evaluation criteria and have selected the project submitted by the hydrogen group for the golden award.
